How I Created a Six Figure-Earning Membership Site for Under $300...

And How You Can Too!

My name is Jon Bard. I'm the owner of a membership site that will
generate a six-figure income this year and runs as smooth as silk.

But my membership site experience didn't start out quite so enjoyably.
When I set out to develop my site, I soon found that the options for
creating it were often a) confusing as heck and b) wildly expensive.

But I'm a stubborn guy, so I plowed on and, somehow, managed to
find a way to build a great-looking and powerful site for less than $300.
And running it couldn't be easier or more fun.

On this page, I am going to share this recipe with you. I will tell you
exactly the software and services I used and how much they will cost.
Why?

* Good Karma

* A few bucks if you buy stuff via affiliate links to the services I recommend.

One note -- apart from the affiliate links, I have no business interest
whatsoever in the products and services I recommend. I'm just a paying
customer. Like you will be (if you're smart!).

First, to prove that I'm walking the walk, here's the link to my membership
site:

http://cbiclubhouse.com

We have more than 3,000 members. Running it is the most creative and
fun thing I've ever done. It's truly a joy to be able to offer so much value to my customers, and to help them become part of a vibrant and exciting community. And our business is absolutely booming.

Now, here's my recipe. Follow this, and you can have a site just like
mine up and running in a matter of days.  No kidding.

1. I decided to build a Wordpress-based site. It was a great decision, because WP is so easy to use and there are plug-ins to handle every functionality. So my first step was downloading Wordpress.

2. Using the advice on very smart folks, I got space with hostgator.com
They kick ass -- no problems whatsoever and setup was a breeze. I registered
my domain with namecheap.com. Total cost so far:
about $20.

3. I found a great magazine style theme called Branford at this site:
Branford Magazine
It was free, really nicely designed and very flexible.
I think it really looks great -- not like a blog at all. It was really tricky to determine how to tweak it, but then.....

4. I found an ebook called Sites that Soar in which the author tells you
exactly how to make the Branford design your own. Genius! $17 for that ebook that saved me countless hours. Total cost so far: $37

5. After much searching and consideration, I decided to go with
WP Wishlist
as my membership site plugin. It was $97 and it's an
utter steal at that price. What fantastic software! It's so well-designed
and intelligently planned, and it seems to know, as if by magic, exactly
what I need to do and it makes it plain how to do it. I could go on and
on about this software, but I'll just tell you that, if you're planning a WP
based membership site, I can't imagine doing any better than Wishlist.
Total cost so far: $134

6. For my logo, I found an amazing service: Crowdspring.com. Killer.
So much better than hiring a designer sight unseen. I got a fab logo done
for $150, and the designer knows just what I'm looking for and is now doing
other graphic work for me. Total cost $284.

And that's it. I added a nice forum plugin called SimplePress, signed up
at Viddler to host my videos and I am good to go.

To recap, the recipe for a buttkicking membership site for under $300:

1. Download Wordpress

2. Get web space with hostgator.com

3. Download Branford Magazine

4. Purchase Sites that Soar (do NOT skip this. You need this ebook!)

5. Get WP Wishlist to run your site. (Trust me -- this software is THE
solution. Awesome, awesome, awesome!)

6. Get your graphics done via Crowdspring.com

And that, my friends, is it!

Good luck on your own membership site journey!
